Technology programme recovery · UK & international

Your programme is red. Let's get it back to green.

Scalene Consulting turns around technology programmes that have stalled, overrun or lost the confidence of their sponsors. I specialise in the hardest part: getting vendors, systems integrators and external consultancies to deliver together.

SCALENE CLIENT VENDOR THIRD PARTIES

Select a corner of the triangle

Why "Scalene"

Three sides. None of them equal.

A scalene triangle has three sides of different lengths. Most troubled programmes look the same: a client, a technology vendor and a set of third parties, each with its own contract, incentives and reporting line. My job is to sit in the middle, independent of all three, and hold the shape together.

How I help

    Example

    What I do

Four ways to engage, from a short independent review to hands-on leadership of the recovery.

    2–3 weeks

    Programme health check

An independent, evidence-based view of where the programme really stands and whether it can be recovered.

    • Stakeholder and vendor interviews
    • Plan, budget and RAID review
    • Clear findings for the sponsor or board
    4–6 weeks

    Recovery plan & re-baseline

A realistic plan, cost-to-complete and scope that every party signs up to.

    • Re-baselined schedule and milestones
    • Cost-to-complete and options analysis
    • Continue, re-scope or stop recommendation
    Ongoing

    Vendor & supplier management

Getting systems integrators, product vendors and consultancies to deliver against what they committed to.

    • SOW, contract and change-request review
    • Joint governance and reporting
    • Escalation and commercial remediation
    3–12 months

    Interim programme leadership

I step in as programme director or recovery lead and run the programme until it is stable.

    • Day-to-day delivery leadership
    • Steering committee and board reporting
    • Handover to a permanent team

    How a turnaround runs

Experience tells me which few factors decide whether a programme recovers. AI and modern tooling then turn those factors into a live dashboard your stakeholders can use to steer, instead of another slide deck.

    1. Stage 1 · Experience

      Find the key factors

Interviews, contracts, plans and RAID logs. I identify the handful of factors that are really driving the programme off course.

    2. Stage 2 · Experience

      Track what matters

Agree a clear measure, owner and threshold for each factor with the client, vendor and third parties. One set of numbers for everyone.

    3. Stage 3 · AI & tools

      Build the dashboard

Use AI and automation to pull data from plans, delivery tools and supplier reports into a live dashboard that updates without manual effort.

    4. Stage 4 · Stakeholders

      Steer and hand over

Sponsors and steering committees use the dashboard to make decisions. When the programme is green, your team keeps the dashboard.

    About

    Manish Chhaya

    Founder & Director

I'm a senior programme manager with international experience leading large, complex technology programmes, much of it in banking and financial services, including UBS and Hamburg Commercial Bank.

I founded Scalene Consulting in 2020 to focus on the work I do best: taking over programmes that aren't working, and getting clients, vendors and consultancies back on a single plan.

Scalene is deliberately a one-person firm. When you engage Scalene, you get me: no pyramid, no juniors learning on your programme, and no conflict of interest with the suppliers I'm there to manage.
